ASID promotes involvement, innovation, and expanded access to leadership opportunities that maximize engagement across identity groups and professional levels. Identity groups include and are not limited to age, appearance, disability, ethnicity, gender, geographic location, nationality, professional level, race, religion, and sexual orientation. The annual call for Nominations is open to members of the design community who may or may not be ASID members. Board terms are three years and run from October 1-September 30 annually, which is ASID’s fiscal year.

VISIONASID Orange County will be Orange County’s definitive professional resource for interior design. We collaborate with others to promote the value of interior design. We prepare our members to excel in a dynamic and evolving profession. Our chapter is made up of designers, industry partners, educators, and students.
ACT/SAT scores have been removed from rankings to reflect a general de-emphasis on test scores in the college admissions process. Each year we reach higher and work harder to grow the organization. It currently does and must continue to reflect the community that we represent at both the national and local level. We value our governing documents – Bylaws and Policies – created to provide a governance framework that empowers our board, committee, chapter and staff teams in their day-to-day work. ASID California Orange County Chapter comes together to enrich professional relationships with all members while increasing membership and public awareness of the Interior Design field.
To support the Board and staff, ASID invites members and other individuals from the interior design community to join one of several committees, councils, or task forces. We rely on this volunteer leadership to ensure our programming supports today’s challenges and opportunities. Through education, knowledge sharing, advocacy, community building and outreach, we strive to advance the interior design profession and, in the process, to demonstrate and celebrate the power of design to positively change people’s lives. OUR VISION STATEMENTASID advances the profession and communicates the impact of interior design to enhance the human experience. The design profession must evolve to better address the pressing environmental, human health, and social challenges facing the world.
